Here’s another bit I cut out of a very early draft of Talio’s Codex. Originally I deleted this scene for length, and then I decided it was better left out. First mention of ‘personal grease’ (lubricant). Cale’s original name was ‘Ched.’
This scene was intended to be a compare-and-contrast between Cale and Pazli: while sex with Cale is fun and enjoyable, sex with Pazli is deeply transformative emotionally for Talio.
He nodded and followed Ched back to the administrative wing and the prosecutorial offices, where staff were tidying up and leaving for the evening.
Ched unlocked the two locks to his office and held the door open for Talio to enter. As they stood in the gloom, Ched closed the door and in a swift motion pressed his hands to Talio’s shoulders and pushed his back against the door. His lips sought out Talio’s and his tongue hungrily explored his mouth.
After a long moment, Ched drew back and looked at him in satisfaction. “I have missed you,” he said. “I still think of that night ten years ago.”
He brought up a hand and gently ran it down the side of Talio’s beard. Talio flinched as it reached the gash in his lips, but Ched did not stop. “So handsome,” he murmured. Then he tilted Talio’s head back and kissed him again.
It had been so long, Talio thought, surrendering to the feeling, feeling Ched press his hard body against his, feeling the stiffness of Ched’s crotch rub against his own. The furtive groping and anonymous encounters he had experienced in Velos had only been enough to slake his thirst but had never truly satisfied him.
Ched drew back and laughed, his eyes light. “You are wonderful,” he said, his hands pulling off Talio’s jacket and dropping it to the floor. They gazed into each other’s eyes as Ched undid the buttons of Talio’s shirt, one by one. Then his hands moved to run through the hair on Talio’s chest and play with his nipples.
Talio closed his eyes and tilted his head back, mouth open in pleasure. He had missed him too.
“Ched…” he said.
But the man was turning him around and pushing him toward the worktable. “Ched,” Talio said again. Ched stopped. “Do you have any…?” He rubbed his fingers together.
The prosecutor’s face fell. “No,” he said. “I don’t normally keep such things in my office.”
Talio was glad of that – it meant that this was not a regular occurrence, at least. He was now painfully hard. “Can we go to your home?” he asked.
“I live in a dormitory,” Ched said, starting to massage Talio’s groin in a way that made him squirm with pleasure.
“The Double Moon Inn?” Talio asked. Ched shook his head, and Talio thought of the night Ched had visited him. He did not want Vinne to tell Talio they had been together.
Ched pushed him back onto the worktable and unbuttoned his trousers, then knelt before him.
Talio gasped, groaned then entwined his hands in Ched’s locs and guided the man’s head down onto him.
As Ched sucked him, he played with his balls, then slipped his hand lower, working a determined thick finger up into him to Talio’s combined pain and pleasure. He heard a rhythmic slapping sound as Ched pleasured himself with his other hand.
“Stop,” Talio said after a while. “I’m going to—”
But Ched did not stop, and instead worked the finger up inside him more insistently, jabbing at him, shooting waves of pleasure through his groin. Until finally, Talio moaned and shuddered and spent himself into the man’s willing mouth. Ched kept his mouth wrapped around him, and he heard him stroke himself harder and faster until he gave a muffled cry and shuddered to a stop.
Ched got to his feet, breathing heavily. He leaned down and kissed Talio hard on the mouth; Talio tasted his own seed. “I could not let you go without one more time,” the man said. His locs had fallen out of their tie, and his eyes were heavy with pleasure.
“We could have found somewhere,” Talio said, buttoning his trousers and standing. “Even the Hall of Reference…”
Ched shook his head. “I had to have you. The moment I saw you.” He looked incredulous at his own words. “I do not know what it is, but when I see you, my animal passions take over. Do you know what that’s like?”
Talio thought of their last time years ago, how he’d let this handsome man run a hand up his thigh and how he had thrown all caution to the wind. “Not really,” he said. “But I am flattered.”
Ched pulled him into a tight, hard hug and nuzzled Talio’s ear with his beard. “You handsome, handsome man,” he repeated. “When will you be back?”
